First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has recognised the extraordinary bravery of a group of heroes whose selfless acts helped save lives and bring reassurance to the public.
During a reception at Bute House the First Minister awarded members of the blue-light services, voluntary sector and a member of the public with a St Andrew’s Award.
The 11 Award winners were picked from 45 successful Brave@Heart nominations by an independent validation panel.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said:
“The awards are an opportunity for Scotland to say thank you to the recipients. Their selflessness, compassion and courage is inspiring, and are an example to us all.”
