First Minister Nicola Sturgeon officially opened the Scottish SPCA refurbished Glasgow Dog & Cat Home and overcame her fear of dogs by giving a puppy called Pippa a hug.
The First Minister praised the work of the SSPCA staff at the centre, and repeated the message that while it is wonderful to have a pet, the old saying is true: “a dog (or any other animal!) l is for life and not just for Christmas”!

The First Minister thanked the staff at the SSPCA for their work in caring for and rehoming animals, and overcame her fear of dogs by giving a puppy called Pippa a hug.
