Jenny Cook, 12, is a fundraiser for Yorkhill Children’s Charity and the Catherine McEwan Foundation who invited First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to open her new fundraising office.
Jenny has ulcerative colitis, and has had a great deal of contact with Yorkhill Children’s Hospital, which led her to start fundraising for Yorkhill Children’s Charity. The Charity raises money to ensure that young patients and their families receive the best possible care.
Jenny offers support to other sick children in her role as a Yorkhill buddy and has her own website to raise awareness of Crohn’s disease and colitis in children.
A local firm supplied Jenny with an ‘office’ – a brand new garden shed – to replace her wendy house in her back-garden. The First Minister congratulated Jenny on her new premises and for exceeding her fundraising total of £100,000 last year for Yorkhill Children’s Charity and the Catherine McEwan Foundation.
