The First Minister hosted a Poetry Salon at Bute House.
A group of care experienced people came to Bute House to share poetry reflecting their experience in care.
Thank you @NicolaSturgeon for hosting the first ever Bute House poetry salon. It gave generations of Care Experienced people the chance to share the road that they have travelled.

Children and young people are the best advocates for change and I’ve heard some powerful stories of incredible strength and success in the most adverse of circumstances.
It is important care experienced people are able to embrace their care identity and being able to identify with characters in books or the media who have had the same experiences can help with this. The Who Cares? Scotland book club is a fantastic way of bringing care experienced people to enjoy books together.”
The First Minister was also presented with a copy of ‘Poems from a Runaway’ by author Ben Westwood.
