As Muslim communities across Scotland observe Ramadan, the First Minister has sent her wishes.
She said:
I extend my best wishes to Muslim communities in Scotland and across the world as they observe Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar.
“Values of community and coming together for the common good lie at the heart of Ramadan – those are values which are universal and which all of us can relate to, in the knowledge that there is much more which unites us, as humanity, than that which divides us.
“The Muslim communities of Scotland are a hugely valued part of our society, and I would like to wish everyone, Ramadan Kareem.”
