First Minister Nicola Sturgeon welcomed the new Chief Constable of Police Scotland, Phil Gormley, to the Scottish Parliament.
Mr Gormley took over from Sir Stephen House and was previously the deputy director of the National Crime Agency and the chief constable of Norfolk Police.
The First Minister said:
I was pleased to meet with Phil early in this tenure as Chief Constable. Phil has a wealth of experience behind him and it is clear to me that he will bring fresh ideas for development and improvement that will build on the strong foundations already in place at Police Scotland
