City of Glasgow College’s new £66 million Riverside Campus was officially opened by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon today.

The new campus is designed to deliver ‘world class’ maritime and engineering education to 10,000 students a year.

The marine engineering workshop features Scotland’s first shipping simulation suite, allowing students to experience the bridge of a super tanker.

The Riverside campus is the first phase of a new £228m twin-site supercampus and was delivered on time and within budget.

More than 200 jobs and Modern Apprenticeships have been created since construction of the ‘supercampus’ began, giving ‘new entrant’ employment opportunities to local people.
