Last night the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon took to the stage of the Aye Write book festival in Glasgow to talk about ‘The Books That Made Me’.
Closing the festival the First Minister spoke about the six books that have influenced and entertained her with broadcaster Clare English.

Her book choices included:
Silver Sword – Ian Serraillier
Sunset Song – Lewis Grassic Gibbon
Docherty – William McIlvanney
The Colour purple – Alice Walker
Team of Rivals – Doris Kearns Goodwin
Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen
The First Minister also read a short passage from Sunset Song to the audience before answering some questions.
