First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was in an unfamiliar role when she took to the stage at the Edinburgh International Book Festival this year.
She was taking part in an in conversation style event with Scotland’s Makar, Jackie Kay – but the FM was asking the questions rather than answering them in the event screened live on the BBC website.

The FM and Jackie reminisced about the phone call made by the FM to inform Jackie that she was being made Scotland’s national poet, while discussing the love of books shown by the FM during her childhood and to the present day.
This article from The Scotsman gives a summary of the event, which included light moments between the FM and the Makar.
